The Photographs of
Christopher R. Harris
Chris Harris was based in New Orleans from 1969 until 1989 as a photographer of news and feature subjects for publications throughout the world. Working for clients such as TIME, Newsweek, the New York Times, Paris Match, and Der Spiegel Harris took images that came to illustrate the American South for those who were not there.

Artists, writers and the common people were his subjects. Whether photographs of the Black Struggle for Civil Rights, the Ku Klux Klan leadership, Governors, Presidents or Cajun Life...all were taken with a passion for documenting the time and the place.

These images are available for purchase as archival, museum quality silver-gelatin prints, or archival digital prints. In addition, usage licenses are available for publication, whether commercial or for educational use.
